  • 01. Professor Syed Fazlul Haque


    Date of birth: July 8, 1920

     

    Place of birth:

    Raihanpur village in Patharghata police station of Barguna district

     

    Educational identity:

    While pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Matriculation from Barisal BM College, Primary School, Jhalakathi Government Higher Secondary School in his village, he obtained his B.Sc.

     

    Working life:

    After retiring as a professor in the Department of Radiotherapy at the Medical College in 1986, he worked as a Professor of Radiotherapy at Al Fatah University in Libya for 6 years.

     

    Social activities:

    Joining the School Bratchari and Boys Scout, St. John Ambulance Brigade in College and U&T in Medical College. He was also involved in the activities of the Bangladesh Medical Association. The name of the college is Syed Fazlul Haque Degree College. Besides, he was the founding president of Bangladesh Cancer Society and was busy in the work of Bangladesh Cancer Control.
    He was a prominent Rotarian. There is no way to mention his special contribution in establishing Rotary Cancer Detection Center and Cancer Institute in Mohakhali. The last wish of his life was to build a complete cancer hospital.

    Dr. Hakeru's wife Sajeda Haque is a successful mother. They have six daughters - the eldest daughter has a doctorate in psychology. She is working in an international organization. Dr. Syed's grandfather Mr. Syed Raihan Uddin was a well-known personality of the area and the area was named after him. Professor Syed Fazlul Haque is a well-known veteran physician and the first cancer specialist in Bangladesh. His contribution in the field of medicine, especially in the field of cancer, is very significant in the context of Bangladesh.

     

    This accomplished son of Bengal passed away on 12 February 2005.

    03. Prince Abdul Malek Khan
    Prince Abdul Malek Khan was born in Kaunia village of Betagi police station in Barguna district. His father, the late Abi Abdullah Khan, M. from Patuakhali subdivision of undivided Bengal. L. Be selected. He received his M.A. from Dhaka University. A degree. In 1954, Barisal B. He started his career by teaching in M. College. He started law business in 1971 in Barisal. In 1970, he was elected as a Member of Parliament in Patharghata-Barguna constituency as a candidate of Awami League. Before the war of independence of Bangladesh, he led the non-cooperation movement in different places, especially in Betagi, Bamna, Patharghata and Kathalia police stations. After Bangabandhu's declaration of independence on 25 March 1971, Mujib played an active role in the war of independence under the Provisional Government of the city. After independence, he devoted himself to development work. In 1973, he joined the cabinet of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujbur Rahman of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh as the Minister of State for Industry. He passed away on April 1, 2006.
